David Pocock may be spending his second season in a row sitting in the stands recovering from getting a knee reconstructed, but that hasn't stopped him from reinforcing his perfectness. Isn't it enough that he looks like a Greek god and is a genius on the Rugby field but now he's going round saying more perfect statements at the perfect time. Bastard.
This is what Pocock had to say about ANZAC Day:
"I'm loathe to compare anything sport wise with military language, I think it's a bit disrespectful for people who have put their lives on the line. I'm not playing, but I guess I'm a little bit uncomfortable when you put war and sport together... The big thing on Anzac Day for me is whilst it's good to remember the people who have died serving Australia, it's equally important to remember people who died fighting against Australia."
Not only is he absolutely correct and entitled to say it, the fact remains that he used the word 'whilst'. No normal person could ever get away with such such flamboyant and grammatically correct language.
It's not just ANZAC day either. Pocock is an advocate for marriage equality, yet another worthwhile cause:
“I don’t see what the big deal is with the whole gay marriage debate in Australia. Being brought up in a Christian home and still identifying as Christian, I get pretty annoyed with the Christian lobbies around the world who say gay marriage destroys the family and all that kind of rubbish… These are the prejudices that you have to challenge and break down.”
So even though he's a Christian, which is usually more than enough to hate someone, Pocock somehow manages to turn that into a positive by admitting that he to thinks a lot of core-Christian beliefs are rubbish.
Indeed so strongly does Pocock feel about the issue, that he and his perfect partner Emma (perfect because she's not a typical super model sports partner - she's not even blonde) have decided not to get married until marriage equality laws are passed in Australia.
Why didn't I think of that excuse? Damn him.
